The birth of the blog

Forbidden City, Beijing
In the summer of 2008 I quit my job on Wall St, moved out of my Brooklyn apartment, took out a loan, and went on a 5 month trip around the world. Why? Well, there are many reasons to do such a thing, and for me it was a combination of reconnecting with my roots, seeing for myself what is really going on in some parts of the world, and challenging myself by having to deal with situations that require quick and careful thinking, a lot of charisma, and a bit of dumb luck. The result? Well I am alive and well and back in the States after traveling through 3 countries in Europe, all over Russia, Israel and Lebanon, and a month spent journeying across China. I of course lugged all of my video and camera gear along for the ride.
Starting in March of 2010, I will begin publishing the story of this journey that took me across the entire planet, and has fundamentally altered the way that I think and see the world around me. Please stay tuned…
With interests in writing, photography, politics, and culture, I created this site for the purpose of sharing ideas and concepts that come about through the different experiences of both my personal and professional lives.
